Today was the last day of the qualifying round for the tournament. Unfortunately, Milan tied the game and advanced to the consolation round (which is tomorrow at 8am). They played one of the local teams (Liga Risaraldense) and the game was super-physical. I kept thinking they would settle down and start passing but that only happened for a brief moment. For most of the time it was like they were all on speed. Kalani played the last 10 minutes (just less than a quarter) and did better today than yesterday, but, the end result was still a 0-0 tie. That left Milan tied for 3rd place, but, due to a one goal differential, they ended up at the bottom of the bracket.
After their game, I stopped to watch the next U16 game (a team from Miami vs. ? possibly a local team). It was not nearly as physical as the Milan game but the parents were really going crazy. While I watched, the coach of the Miami team got red-carded and a parent nearly got expelled as well. But then it started to rain and they finished out the half but because of the lightning called it after about 30 min. I had intended to take the bus back but it's a little under a kilometer to the main road where I catch the first one and it was so wet that I ended up figuring out how to call a cab.
Once back in the hotel, I went for a little walk down Carrera 13 (where the hotel is). It's crazy: everyone is getting ready for Christmas. I passed 3 Christmas stores within a block of each other.
I've been ordering take out every night because there's nothing open near the hotel after dark. Last night I decided to order a hamburger. I ordered a deluxe because it only cost a little more and I wanted to make sure I got lettuce and tomato. I should have taken a photo: it had hamburger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, BBQ onions, pickles, bacon, ham, crushed potato chips, and 5 little quail eggs on toothpicks sticking from the side! And I may have forgotten something. It was amazing and I couldn't finish it.

I heard from Glen. He, Sasha, Anita, Irina and Masha left Medellin this afternoon and are on their way to Pereira. They haven't heard back from the school that Anita applied to so figure she isn't going to be starting on Monday and that they had the time to come back out here. Will be good to see them one more time.
