Last week we went to a place in the rainforest called Rainforest Retreat which is a place where you can rent a cottage and stay the night. The forest was very much like the forest in Hawaii. There was a bunch of plants that looked like some plants in Hawaii. It was nice to hear frogs at night instead of cars. The only problem was THE LEECHES!

we went to Halebid and Belur on Monday there were lots of carvings on the walls.you can see them above .we ate a late lunch at belur and left for home it took a really long time to get home. when we finally got there it was 9:30 pm.every one was sleepy from walking almost all day and went to sleep.
today we went home to Bangalore. But there were protesters blocking the way with trucks. We managed to get past a crack in the trucks after waiting for about 20 minutes. The reason that we got past the trucks is that there were people getting through a crack so the protesters drove forward to block that crack. then we drove through a hole it made behind the truck with a few other cars.
We drove about 1-3 minutes when we got to a big group of people with loudspeakers shouting. We stopped there for another 20 minutes. Then the crowd of protesters yelling in Kannada started walking. After going for a little bit we got stopped AGAIN!!!
This time we got stopped by a police man how said that unless we were part of the protest we couldn't go any further. Then he had us drive to block a side street people were going through. A person came and told us to just go. We drove through the small village the side road led to and soon came back on the main road in front of the protest. There were no more stops beside lunch after that.
For lunch we got tandoori chicken, biriani, ghee rice, and fish (which I didn't eat). While we were eating some guys came and sat at the table behind us. A little later I heard a blousha! sound from behind me. When I looked back one of the guys was puking. Then after that a different guy puked 2 more times and went out of the restaurant. Luckily none of the other guys puked.
After lunch we got taken to a waterfall where people were swimming. We all went on a ride close to the falls except for my dad. he went swimming right where the water was pouring into the lake. I'll put pictures of that later.

Today we went to Male Mahadeshwaram Temple. They put bindis on us when we went inside there was a room that the archway into was plated in silver.
After we came out of the temple, "The Golden Temple" a littler with a gold top and a god's statue inside came out and drove around the temple. People started lighting at trail of incenses in the wake of the cart holding "the golden temple."
We also saw a village that was half soliga and half lingayat two tribes that are native to India. They have cool mud huts.
today we actually went to the Biligiri Ranga Swami Temple. There was a kid who showed us the temple. I can't remember his name. In the temple there was 2 or 3 statues of him and also other statues of a elephant and a god. There were also two pairs of shoes that belonged to Ranga Swami (the god the temple is to) one of the pairs of shoes was new and one was pair was old. They were both fancy and had shiny paper and gold paint. The older pair were worn and did not look as fancy but you could tell they used to be fancy. The shoes were about 2 feet long.
On our way to the temple there was a stone carving of a god. There was a monkey hanging around the statue that people first gave offering to the statue then gave that same offering to the monkey (the offering was some bananas).
Today we went to BRT because my mom wanted to visit the ATREE research station. We walked to the small village near there. There were all kinds of people who wanted to take pictures with us.
When we got back to ATREE there were lots of monkeys in the trees. They kept coming to the ground to eat some fruits there. Then the dogs that were at ATREE (who were from the coffee plantation across the street) would chase the monkeys back up the tree. Then when the dogs left the monkeys would climb back to the ground. And the dogs would chase them back down the tree. This happened about 6 or 7 times.
During the night the electricity went out and we had to light candles. I like candle light better than bulbs.
In early morning we went in the car to see animals. We saw two different types of deer, wild pigs, lots of birds, adn a funny looking lemur thing.
